Jimmy is a struggling Elvis Impersonator with no money, no job and three failed marriages. Donna is an ambitious women struggling with her marriage, her life and her explosive daughter, Lisa. But tragedy and comedy are about to collide. When larger-than-life-Donna meets Bible-thumping Jimmy, nothing will ever be the same again. The adventure begins when Donna brings Jimmy home to live with her and her somewhat accommodating husband, Jerry. With visions of success, Donna gambles their entire life savings and family stability on the dream of promoting Jimmy in her own lavish Elvis production in East Peoria. When the show fails to rocket Jimmy to stardom, Donna never gives up on her dream of turning this down-and-out Elvis Impersonator into a success. With the odds stacked against them, this mismatched pair then travels the country trying to win an Elvis competition while leaving in their wake a comedy of errors that tugs at your heartstrings.
